Bulldogs remain perfect with 42-0 win over the Zion Chapel Rebels

September 15, 2006: The Brantley Bulldogs picked up their 3rd win of the season against no losses with a 42-0 victory over the Zion Chapel Rebels in Jack, Alabama, Friday night. The Region 2 contest was all Brantley as the Bulldogs had a 21-0 halftime lead, and they added 21 points in the 2nd half for the win. The win was the third straight shutout for the Green Machine, and the Bulldogs have won 30 Region 2 games in a row without a lost. The last time Brantley lost a region game was in 2001. The Bulldogs have scored 146 points while allowing zero points scored against them. James Pittman scored three touchdowns and had 164 yards rushing on only 4 carries to lead the Bulldogs. He had scoring runs of 54, 73, and 37. Chris Booker scored on a 73-yard pass from quarterback Jonathan Helms, and Jeffrey Daniels punched it over on a three-yard run. Anthony Gulley scored the final tally for the Bulldogs on a 23 yard run. Marquis Owens was 6 for 6 on extra points. Brantley travels to Ariton next week in another Region 2 game. |
