The Brantley Bulldogs had an enjoyable 2007 Homecoming with an impressive 60-0 win over the Kinston Bulldogs in Brantley Friday night. The Bulldogs playing with homecoming queen TaRonda Randall and her court viewing the Region 2 battle, built a 20-0 first quarter lead and then coasted to their 8th win of the season against only 1 lost.

Freshman Devonte Porter took advantage of some valuable playing time by scoring 3 touchdowns for the Bulldogs which included a 65 yard punt return along with a 2 yard run and a 48 yard run. Anthony Gulley got the onslaught going early when he returned the opening kickoff 92 yards for the Bulldogs first score. Chase Hall threw for 2 touchdowns with both being caught by Roy-L Knighten. The first one was for 54 yards and the second one was for 10 yards. Hall also caught a touchdown pass from 9 yards out from Gulley in the 2nd quarter. Terrell Burnett added a touchdown on a 31 yard run, and Justin Wright contributed one from 2 yards. Britt Barnes kicked six extra points for the night.

For the Bulldogs special teams and the passing attack stood out in the win. Anthony Gulley had a kickoff return for 92 yards for a touchdown, and Devonte Porter had a punt return for a 65 yard touchdown. Chase Hall completed 7 out of 8 passes for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns while Zach Johnson was 2 of 2 for 40 yards. Anthony Gulley was 3 of 3 for 40 yards and 1 touchdown. Roy-L Knighen had 3 catches for 69 yards, Dexter Daniels 2 for 31 yards, and Terrell Burnet 2 for 35 yards to lead the receivers. Devonte Porter was the leading rusher with 51 yards on 5 carries with Terrell Burnett rushing for 41 yards on 4 carries.

The Bulldogs had the opportunity to play all their players early and often in the win. Brantley travels to Luverne next Thursday night to take on the Tigers in a rival game that is recognized throughout Alabama. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.
