It is amazing the work that some folks go to just to have fun......;)  This page is just the case in point.  This shoot is called the "Dull Knife", why I do not know, as it has never had anything to do with a knife in the ten years that I have been shooting it.

This year the Medicine Man put on the shoot, as it was his turn.  Badleg brought this 55 gallon drum with four eye hooks welded on it.   It was tied between trees, and a saddle placed on it.  A stick was stuck up in the ground about 3 feet from the edge of one of the ropes.  The "rider", drum and rope were pulled up to the stick and turned loose.  You had 30 seconds to get off a shot and hit a small target as you were swinging back and forth.   Interesting shooting to say the least!!!!

Rosebud takes his turn.....                             And Medicine Man looks up before I can snap the shot.

Our over all winner AX doing his thing!         And Choctaw waited too long to shoot....;)

What made it even more fun, you had to load and shoot five shots while still in the loosely tied saddle and get swung every time!   What the stump is for?  If you tried to put your foot in the stirrup and swing into the saddle, the saddle and you both came off the "horse"...... I know, I been there and done that........;)
