This is a picture I took in 1993 when I went to the Western National
Rendezvous in the Rocky Mountains, near Grand Junction, CO. I am above the tree line at
about 10,500 feet. It is July, and you can see the wild flowers in the foregound, and the
snow on the Mountains in the distance at about 11,500 feet. It was very cool, almost cold
at this altitude in July. I had been camped in the Uncompahge National Forest with
"BigFoot" and his wife "Patience" at the Western National for four
days at about 9,000 feet. There is VERY little air to breath, and any physical activity
"winds" you very quickly, that is, if you were born and grew up about 300 feet
above sea level!
